AMLA believes in cultivating the next generation of musicians through the deployment of culturally relevant music education, which empowers youth to realize positive change in their lives. Through our Latin School for the Performing Arts (LSPA), young artists gain the tools to pursue their dreams of artistic expression and possibly careers in music. AMLA helps students then develop a variety of skills, including confidence, collaboration and an understanding and appreciation of Latino culture.
Students of LSPA take part in an authentic Latin Music Education Curriculum within their designated instrumental field. They also learn the proper technique necessary to advance in their music education such as musical ear training, sight-reading, ensemble/performance experience, and music theory.
AMLA’s Latin School of Performing arts is open to students of all ages beginning at the age of five years old.
